For the level 3 test, you must study your 10 terms, famous people, the fill in notes on the beginnings of the US and Imperialism (Monroe Doctrine, Sewards Folly, Japan, Hawaii).
After that study the Spanish American War powerpoint.
The test will be scantrons, multiple choice, true/false and some fill in the blanks. There will also be one essay. (introduction, 1 paragraph, conclusion)
What are the two main reasons that Americans wanted to go to war with Spain and how did the Spanish American War fit with the US and the definition of imperialism?
Level 2 test will be scantron (multiple choice, true/false, matching, etc), a map (the one that is in your journals), analysis of political cartoons. (See below for the topics we covered)
Honors test will be scantron, a timeline, analysis of political cartoons, and an essay.
The essay is "Please define Imperialism and compare how imperialism affected Hawaii and Cuba (before and after the Spanish American War). How were they similar? Different? Today's historians view imperialism only in a negative light. Is that a fair assessment? Why or why not?
Make sure to include an introduction and brief conclusion.
